About

Dads Outdoors, established in 2025, empowers dads through mental and physical wellness initiatives such as weekly walks and nature activities. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) focused on building a supportive network, enhancing community engagement, and promoting well-being among dads.

Somewhere along the way, it became clear that we’d lost something important: the third space. Home is where you are a parent, a partner, or both. At work, you are the professional. But the third space, the place where you can just be yourself, had slowly disappeared. For some, that space used to be the pub or the allotment.  So, a handful of dads decided to do something different and created Dads Outdoors. We meet up in nature and do cool stuff, like bushcraft, hiking, or simply sitting around a campfire and talking.

There is no pressure, no fixing, just connection, open fires, and open conversation.

This is our third space.

Director

I’m 43, married, and a dad to two amazing neurodiverse children who are at the heart of everything I do. Like many parents, I spent years balancing the pressures of work, family life, and the endless demands of modern living. Along the way, I noticed something familiar in the fathers around me—a growing sense of isolation, exhaustion, and disconnection. Too often, we carry the weight of responsibility alone. I’m passionate about creating spaces where dads can connect, support one another, and know they’re not facing life’s challenges in isolation. Strong communities help build stronger families and healthier, happier fathers.

PETE

Director

I’m Pete, 49, a husband, father and proud Brummie-Irish Liverpudlian. Raised in a generation where men were taught to hide emotions and simply “get on with it,” becoming a dad and losing my own father made me question those old ideas. Determined to be a better man and role model for my son, I found healing in nature through walking, swimming, climbing and time outdoors. From that journey, Dads Outdoors was born—a supportive community where men can connect, share openly and grow together through walks, fire circles, bushcraft and community projects. We’re building healthier, more authentic role models for future generations.

I’m 42 and a proud dad to two wonderful girls. Like many fathers, I’ve seen first-hand the challenges that life can throw at us and how easy it is for people to struggle in silence. Over the years, I noticed friends, family members, and other dads finding it tough to cope with the pressures of work, relationships, and parenting. Rather than stand by, I wanted to do what I could to help. I believe that simple acts of support, listening, and connection can make a real difference. My goal is to encourage others, build community, and remind people they’re never alone.
